LG vs Majority Audio Systems

LG and Majority both offer affordable Bluetooth audio, but in different shapes. LG's listings include the XBOOM GO XG1 portable Bluetooth speaker in navy blue at £19.99, the xboom Grab by will.i.am at £79 and the XBOOM 360 XO2 portable speaker with 360-degree sound in beige at £79.99. Majority offers the D70X active Bluetooth bookshelf speakers in black or white at £89 and the Party Pro 1 portable Bluetooth party speaker at £129.99.

LG's XBOOM range focuses on portable, battery-powered speakers. The XG1 is a pocket-sized speaker at a very low price, ideal for travel or a bathroom, while the XO2's 360-degree design spreads sound evenly around a room or garden, with a lantern-style look. The xboom Grab is a compact speaker developed with will.i.am, aimed at style-conscious buyers. Majority's D70X is a different product type: a pair of mains-powered active bookshelf speakers that deliver true stereo separation, ideal for a desk, TV or turntable. Majority's Party Pro 1 offers louder sound for gatherings.

How you listen decides it. For portable sound you can carry from room to room or outdoors, LG's XBOOM speakers offer great value, especially the XO2 for 360-degree sound. For a fixed stereo setup with a TV, computer or record player, Majority's D70X bookshelf speakers are the better choice and still cost under £100. For parties, Majority's Party Pro 1 offers more volume than LG's compact models.

Bottom line: choose LG if you want portable Bluetooth speakers, with the XBOOM 360 XO2 at £79.99 or the XG1 at £19.99 for budget travel use. Opt for Majority if you want stereo bookshelf speakers for a desk or TV, the D70X at £89, or a louder party speaker like the Party Pro 1 at £129.99.
