Hisense vs Hotpoint Built-in Ovens

Hisense and Hotpoint compete for the same mid-market kitchen. Hisense's built-in ovens sell from £189 for the BI62212ABUK to £329 for the BSA65222PBUK, with the BI64211PX at £279 and the BI62211CX 77-litre at £229. Hotpoint covers a wider price band in this pairing, from £229 for the SA4 544 C IX Class 2 71-litre single oven to £359 for the DD2 540 WH 116-litre double oven, with the SA2840PIX 66-litre single at £234 and the SA4544HIX Class 4 at £249.

Hisense's distinctive features are EvenBake, which evens out heat across every shelf, and pyrolytic cleaning on the BSA65222PBUK and BI64211PX. Hotpoint's core technology is Multiflow, which spreads heat across shelf levels for batch baking. The Class 4 model adds a full-width electric grill and a double-glazed door, the Class 2 model has a twin variable grill and multifunction cooking, and the SA2840PIX has a quadruple glazed door. The DD2 540 WH provides a digital display and a circulaire fan across two cavities of 42 and 74 litres.

Hisense suits buyers who want pyrolytic cleaning or a 77-litre single cavity without paying for a double oven, and it works well for families who roast large joints. Hotpoint suits households that need two cavities, such as a couple cooking a main and a dessert at different temperatures, or buyers who want a familiar Multiflow single oven. Hotpoint's double model gives 116 litres in total, which is more room for batch cooking than any single Hisense here.

Bottom line: choose Hisense if you want EvenBake and pyrolytic cleaning in a single 77-litre oven for £329 or less, and choose Hotpoint if you need a double oven or a Multiflow single oven from £229 to £249.
