Beko 7kg Wash 4kg Dry 1200rpm Washer Dryer vs 8kg Wash 5kg Dry 1400rpm Washer Dryer — Comparison

The Beko WDL742431W is a 7kg wash and 4kg dry washer dryer with a 1200rpm spin, while the Beko BM3DT68342B takes 8kg for washing and 5kg for drying at 1400rpm. Both cost £399 and both offer around 15 programmes and a wash-only option, so the decision comes down to load size and the space you have.

The larger model is 570mm deep against 500mm for the smaller one and weighs 67kg against 63kg, so check the room behind it before buying. The 7kg model is rated E for energy with a wash-and-dry figure of 265, against D and 264 for the 8kg model. On wash-only cycles the smaller machine uses less water, at 34 litres against 47. The 8kg model adds an auto half-load setting and a hand-wash programme, which suit lighter or delicate loads.

Buyers of the 8kg model praise its quiet running, value and quick wash, and many mention the easy controls. Some say the front can scuff easily and that the supplied inlet hose did not fit their plumbing. Owners of the 7kg model report effective washing and fewer mould problems, though one buyer had two machines leak, and that is the most serious complaint across both.

Bottom line: choose the 7kg WDL742431W if you have limited depth and a smaller household, and choose the 8kg BM3DT68342B if you need the bigger drum, the faster 1400rpm spin and the half-load and hand-wash options.
