Bosch Series 4 Freestanding Full-Sized Dishwasher vs Series 4 Dishwasher 14 Place Settings - Silver — Comparison

The Bosch SMS4EKI06G is a silver, full-sized, freestanding Series 4 dishwasher at £549. It has 13 place settings, six programmes and a 60-degree maximum water intake, with a removable cutlery basket, a half-load option and delay start. At 845mm high, 600mm wide and 600mm deep, measure your gap before ordering.

It is rated B for energy at 64kWh a year, with 42dB noise, a 3 hour 35 minute eco programme and Home Connect app control. The Vario Flex basket adjusts for larger pots or plates, and the app is useful for starting or checking cycles from a phone, so you can see when a load has finished without going to the kitchen.

Buyers are consistently positive. They describe the Series 4 as very quiet, easy to load and effective at cleaning, and one family of four calls it a fantastic machine for a busy household. Many praise the door that opens at the end of a cycle, which helps dishes dry. Some say the app takes a while to learn, and one reviewer wishes it would load and unload itself.

Bottom line: choose the Bosch SMS4EKI06G if you want a quiet, app-controlled freestanding dishwasher at £549 with a Vario Flex basket, and choose a fully integrated dishwasher instead if you want the door hidden behind kitchen panels, which this model does not offer.
