Bosch Series 6 WQG245R9GB 9kg Heat Pump Tumble Dryer - Graphite vs Samsung — Comparison
The Bosch Series 6 WQG245R9GB at £649 and the Samsung Series 5 DV90CGC0A0ABEU at £649.99 are both 9kg heat pump tumble dryers at virtually the same price, making this a close contest between two of the biggest names in laundry. Both offer the low running costs of heat pump drying, but differ in features and finish.
The Bosch WQG245R9GB comes in graphite, measures 842 x 598 x 613mm, carries an A++ energy rating and runs at 64dB. Bosch's Series 6 dryers typically include a self-cleaning condenser, which keeps efficiency high without manual rinsing, and AutoDry sensors that stop the cycle when clothes reach the right dryness. The Samsung DV90CGC0A0ABEU is a Series 5 9kg heat pump dryer that uses Samsung's Optimal Dry sensors to monitor temperature and moisture, and connects to the SmartThings app for remote control and alerts. Samsung dryers pair visually with Samsung washing machines.
Both dryers will dramatically cut running costs compared with a condenser or vented dryer. The Bosch suits buyers who value low maintenance, proven reliability and a graphite finish, and its self-cleaning condenser is a genuine convenience for heavy users. The Samsung suits buyers who want app control and a matching Samsung laundry pair. Since prices are identical, matching your washing machine and preferred features is the sensible way to decide.
Bottom line: choose the Bosch Series 6 WQG245R9GB at £649 if you want a low-maintenance A++ heat pump dryer with a graphite finish. Choose the Samsung DV90CGC0A0ABEU at £649.99 if you want SmartThings app control and a matching Samsung washer.
