CDA vs Hotpoint PHVP 6.4F AL K/1 60cm Chimney Cooker Hood — Comparison

The CDA ECN62SS and the Hotpoint PHVP 6.4F AL K/1 are both 60cm chimney cooker hoods priced at exactly £179, making this a straight contest of design and features. The CDA is a flat chimney hood in stainless steel, while the Hotpoint is a vertical, angled design in a black finish, so they suit quite different kitchen styles.

The CDA ECN62SS uses a classic flat chimney layout with three extraction speeds, sitting horizontally above a 60cm hob. Its stainless steel finish complements traditional and contemporary kitchens with steel appliances. The Hotpoint PHVP 6.4F AL K/1 is a vertical, angled hood with three speed levels and built-in lights, in a black finish. Angled hoods sit further back towards the wall, giving more headroom over the hob so you are less likely to bump your head while cooking, and the black glass look pairs well with black ovens and induction hobs. Both offer three speeds, so extraction control is comparable.

The decision is largely aesthetic and practical. Choose the CDA if you prefer a traditional chimney hood that matches stainless steel appliances and want a design that is simple to clean around. Choose the Hotpoint if you want a modern black look, more headroom over the hob and integrated lighting to illuminate your cooking. Before buying, check whether you will duct the hood to the outside or use recirculation, as carbon filters are needed for recirculation and both hoods should be installed at the recommended height above your hob.

Bottom line: choose the Hotpoint PHVP 6.4F AL K/1 at £179 if you want a modern angled black hood with more headroom and built-in lights. Choose the CDA ECN62SS at £179 if you prefer a classic stainless steel flat chimney design.
