Hotpoint PHVS 91F LT DP K DropProtect 90cm Chimney Cooker Hood - Black vs 60cm Chimney Cooker Hood - Black — Comparison

The Hotpoint PHVS 91F LT DP K is a 90cm black chimney cooker hood at £334, and the Hotpoint PHVS61FLTDPK is a 60cm black chimney hood at £349, so the smaller hood costs £15 more. Both have three speeds with a boost setting, a DropProtect feature, a built-in light, a noise rating of 65dB, and suitability for recirculating or external venting.

The main differences are size and energy rating. The 90cm model is 898mm wide, 368mm deep and weighs 20.4kg, and is rated A+. The 60cm model is 598mm wide, 371mm deep and weighs 18.4kg, and is rated A. Both stand 1475mm high. For a standard 60cm hob the second model is the obvious fit, while a wider hob calls for the 90cm.

Reviewers of the 90cm hood praise its modern look, its ability to remove steam and its lighting. The main downside noted is noise. The 60cm hood gets similar comments: buyers like its look and say extraction is clearly better than the hood it replaced, though it is noisier. Several say it clears the air quickly, so the noise does not need to run for long.

Bottom line: choose the Hotpoint PHVS 91F LT DP K if you have a wider hob and want the cheaper, A+ rated 90cm hood, and choose the Hotpoint PHVS61FLTDPK if you have a standard 60cm hob and want the 60cm model.
