Indesit IS F 18Q60 NE 60cm 4 Zone Induction Hob vs Induction Hob Electric 4 Rings with Timer — Comparison

The Indesit IS F 18Q60 NE and the Indesit IS83Q60NE are both black, four-zone induction hobs with front touch controls and a 590mm width, so they suit the same kind of worktop. The IS F 18Q60 NE is priced at £169 and the IS83Q60NE at £199, and neither has a wok burner or smart connectivity.

The differences are in the details. The IS F 18Q60 NE is the deeper unit at 520mm against 510mm, and it adds a boost function and a residual heat indicator, which help when you want water boiling fast or need to know whether a zone is still hot. The IS83Q60NE instead offers a timer, useful if you want a session to switch off on its own. It is also thinner at 54mm high against 60mm for the other, so check the cut-out for your worktop before ordering, since the IS F 18Q60 NE needs a 560mm by 490mm opening.

Buyers of the IS83Q60NE describe quick heating, responsive zones and good results with large pans, which suits everyday cooking. Complaints centre on finish and delivery: one owner saw the glass darken around a burner within three days, and another received a box with missing screws. Ask for a careful check of the hob and packaging on arrival, and keep the receipt in case anything needs putting right.

Bottom line: choose the IS83Q60NE if you want a timer and proven quick heating, even at £199, and choose the IS F 18Q60 NE if you want the cheaper hob with a boost function and a slightly deeper footprint.
