Samsung M70H 65" 4K Ultra HD Mini LED HDR Vision AI Smart TV vs QN80F 100" 4k Ultra HD Neo QLED Neo Quantum HDR Smart TV — Comparison

The Samsung M70H is a 65-inch Mini LED set listed at £799, and the Samsung QN80F is a 100-inch Neo QLED set. Size is the main decision: the QN80F's screen is 252cm across against 163cm for the M70H, and it weighs about 59kg without its stand against 14kg for the smaller set, so it needs a large room and a robust wall mount.

Both are 4K sets with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, variable refresh rate and a gaming mode. The QN80F adds Neo QLED panel technology, NQ4 AI Gen2 processing, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos sound, which the M70H does not offer, and it has a 100Hz refresh rate against 50Hz. It has four HDMI 2.0 ports against three on the M70H, but neither offers HDMI 2.1. The M70H includes Google Assistant, Bixby and the ITVX app, none of which the QN80F lists, and the QN80F's energy use is much higher at 447kWh per 1000 hours of HDR viewing against 149kWh for the M70H.

Buyers of the M70H mostly praise the picture and sound for the money, the quick set-up and the slim, light build. One owner reported that terrestrial channels would not retune and that wall mounting blocks two HDMI ports. Buyers of the QN80F are positive about picture and sound, easy set-up, simple navigation and value, and one notes the remote lacks number keys, which takes some getting used to.

Bottom line: choose the M70H if you want a 65-inch set that is easier to fit in a typical living room at £799, and choose the QN80F if you need a 100-inch screen with Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ and have the room for it.
