Samsung QN73F 55" 4K Ultra HD Neo QLED Vision AI Smart TV vs QN90F 50" 4K Ultra HD Neo QLED Smart TV — Comparison
The Samsung QN73F is a 55-inch 4K Neo QLED smart TV at £699, while the Samsung QN90F is a 50-inch 4K Neo QLED model at £689. Both are 2025 models. The QN73F has a 144Hz refresh rate, four HDMI 2.1 ports and a one-year guarantee. The QN90F has a 120Hz refresh rate and a two-year guarantee.
The QN73F is the gaming-focused model, with FreeSync, variable refresh rate, Game Hub, a SolarCell remote and an NQ4 AI processor, plus a 20W RMS sound system. The QN90F offers Dolby Atmos sound, HDR10+ and Motion Xcelerator 120Hz. The 55-inch set uses 181kWh per 1,000 hours in HDR mode, against 124kWh for the 50-inch, so the bigger screen costs more to run.
Owners of both praise the picture, with bright colours, deep blacks and good detail. The QN73F draws complaints about sound quality, a motion sensor that switched the set on unexpectedly, and an app-led setup that needs a QR code. Buyers of the QN90F appreciate its anti-glare screen, though some find the sound weak and the on/off switch hard to find.
Bottom line: choose the Samsung QN73F if you want the larger 55-inch screen, the 144Hz refresh rate and gaming features such as FreeSync, and choose the Samsung QN90F if you want a smaller 50-inch set with Dolby Atmos and lower HDR power use for £10 less.
