Bosch vs Vax Vacuum Cleaners

Bosch and Vax sit at opposite ends of the budget. Bosch's models run from £315 for the BCH86HYGGB Serie 2 stick vacuum to £569 for the Unlimited 10 BBS1041GGB. Vax's range in this comparison starts at £119 for the Air Lift 2 Pet Plus upright bagless vacuum and reaches £189 for the Pace Plus cordless vacuum. The VAX CLSV-PAKS Pace cordless vacuum at £129 and the Blade 4 CLSV-B4KS at £139 sit between them. The cheapest Bosch is £196 more than the cheapest Vax.

Vax builds its range around Multi-Cyclonic technology, which the brand says maintains strong suction through a cleaning session, along with HEPA filtration that captures 99.99% of microscopic particles. The Air Lift 2 Pet Plus includes VersaClean technology, a Turbo Tool for pet hair and a lift-out design, while the Pace range offers Boost Mode and captures up to 99.9% of fine dust. The Blade 4 adds DustTracker LED headlights and a DustVault bin, with a 3-hour fast charge. Bosch emphasises QuattroPower, SensorBagless monitoring and HEPA filtration at 0.3 microns, with SmartSensor control on the BCH86HYGGB and MicroClean technology on the Unlimited range.

Vax suits families and pet owners on a budget. The Air Lift 2 Pet Plus at £119 is the cheapest model here, and its lift-out design suits stairs and upholstery. Bosch appeals to buyers who want a sturdier, filtered machine. The BCH86HYGGB stick at £315 is the entry point, and the Unlimited 7 ProAnimal at £399 weighs 2.9kg with pet-friendly nozzles. Vax models are noted to be louder than premium rivals, so noise-sensitive households should compare the two directly.

Bottom line: choose Vax if budget is the main concern and a £119 upright or £129 Pace cordless will do the job, with a Turbo Tool for pet hair. Choose Bosch if you want HEPA filtration, a 0.3L bagless bin and the lighter Unlimited 7 at £399 for pets.
