AEG vs CDA Wine Coolers

AEG offers integrated undercounter wine coolers from the 5000 range, including the AWUS020B5B for 20 bottles at £579, the AWUS052B5B 820mm model for 52 bottles at £599 and the AWS4052B5B black 52-bottle cooler at £749. CDA is represented here by the FWC604SS 600mm cooler, which holds 45 bottles and costs £729.

The two brands take different approaches. AEG's coolers are built to sit beneath the worktop. The AWUS052B5B uses dynamic air technology and a precision cooling system, while the AWS4052B5B has a thermoelectric system, LED lighting and a single temperature zone. CDA's coolers offer temperature control accurate to within ±0.5°C, separate zones from 5°C to 18°C, double-glazed UV-protective doors and an anti-vibration system. Its humidity range of 60 to 80 per cent suits cork preservation, the cooler runs at about 40dB on average, and the brand gives a five-year warranty.

AEG suits buyers with fitted kitchens who want wine storage that matches their AEG appliances and looks integrated rather than dominating the room. The 20-bottle model suits casual collectors, while the 52-bottle options suit households with a larger collection. CDA suits buyers who want more temperature flexibility for red and white wines, plus the longer five-year warranty. Its 45-bottle capacity gives more headroom than AEG's 20-bottle model, and its anti-vibration design helps protect bottles in a living space. AEG's 52-bottle AWUS052B5B holds more bottles than the CDA for £130 less. Check that the cabinet suits the cooler's format before buying.

Bottom line: choose AEG if you have a fitted kitchen and want an integrated cooler that matches your AEG appliances, from £579 for 20 bottles to £749 for 52. Choose CDA if you want a 45-bottle cooler with separate temperature zones and UV-protected glass for £729.
