Hotpoint vs NEFF Freezers

Hotpoint and NEFF both sell undercounter and tall freezers, but NEFF's built-in models are much more expensive. Hotpoint's 102-litre H55ZM1120W undercounter costs £249 and its 228-litre UH6F2CG frost-free tall freezer £449, while NEFF's GU7212FE0G undercounter is £599 and its GI7815CE0G N90 tall freezer £1,149. At the tall end, the gap is £700 between the Hotpoint UH6F2CG and the NEFF GI7815CE0G.

NEFF's technology centres on Full NoFrost, which the N50 and N90 models use to prevent ice build-up entirely, and its N50 to N90 tiers add features at each level. NEFF freezers are built in to fit behind cabinet doors. Hotpoint's approach is freestanding, with frost-free operation on its tall models, Fast Freeze that drops to -24°C, and adjustable shelves, removable drawers and door balconies. Its H55ZM1120BUK is also offered in black at the same £249 as the white model.

Hotpoint suits families and budget-conscious buyers who want frost-free convenience without a built-in kitchen overhaul, and the 263-litre UH8F2CWUK offers good storage at £489. NEFF suits fitted kitchens that already use a NEFF built-in fridge and want one consistent look, with Full NoFrost removing defrosting altogether. A NEFF freezer's extra cost is hard to justify unless you need integration. Hotpoint's standard 1-year guarantee can be extended to 5 years, so check the cover before buying. Hotpoint's UH6F2CG frost-free tall freezer at £449 is the best value on the Hotpoint side for a family wanting frost-free storage. Hotpoint's UH8F2CWUK at £489 suits a larger family, though it is freestanding rather than built in.

Bottom line: choose Hotpoint if you want frost-free storage at £249 to £489 without built-in fitting. Choose NEFF if you need a built-in freezer that matches a NEFF larder fridge and Full NoFrost, from £599 for the GU7212FE0G to £1,229 for the GI7812EE0G.
