NEFF vs Smeg Freezers

NEFF and Smeg both sell premium freezers designed to match a fridge in the same range. Smeg's frost-free tall freezers come in black as the UKFF18EN2HB at £899 or silver as the UKFF18EN2HX at £996. NEFF's tall GI7815CE0G N90 model costs £1,149, and the N50 GI7812EE0G is £1,229, so the Smeg UKFF18EN2HB is £250 cheaper than the NEFF N90. NEFF's cheapest undercounter, the GU7212FE0G, is £599, which is £300 below the Smeg.

Smeg's technology is simpler. Its tall freezers are frost free, so they prevent ice build-up and need no manual defrosting, and they come in two finishes with a design-led Italian look. NEFF's N50 and N90 models use Full NoFrost, with the same no-defrosting result, but NEFF's range is wider, with undercounter and tall built-in models and an N50 to N90 tier structure. Smeg's freezers are freestanding only.

Smeg suits design-led kitchens where a black or silver tall freezer should sit beside a matching Smeg larder fridge, for a coordinated side-by-side look. NEFF suits fitted kitchens that need an integrated freezer, with an undercounter option for a limited space and tall options for a built-in larder pairing. Check dimensions and door-opening space on either brand, and allow ventilation space around a freestanding Smeg. Smeg's silver UKFF18EN2HX at £996 costs £97 more than the black version, so the finish choice has a price. NEFF's N90 offers Full NoFrost, while Smeg's freezers are frost free, which gives a similar outcome. Smeg's two finishes both sit above the NEFF undercounter price, so a Smeg is a premium pick chosen for design.

Bottom line: choose Smeg if you want a freestanding, frost-free tall freezer with design-led styling in black or silver, from £899. Choose NEFF if you need a built-in freezer that fits behind cabinet doors, from £599 for the undercounter GU7212FE0G.
