Altimo vs Bosch Fridges

Altimo and Bosch sit at opposite ends of the budget scale in this category. Altimo's cheapest option is the ATTLD4402W tabletop larder fridge at £89, while its ALD5502W undercounter larder fridge costs £159. Bosch starts with the KTL15NWECG Series 2 undercounter fridge with icebox at £299 and moves up to the KSV36VLEP 346L freestanding larder fridge in inox at £699, with the KSV36VWEPG at £639 in between.

Altimo keeps its range simple. The AFR4832W adds a small icebox for ice cubes and frozen items, and the ATTLD4402W offers auto defrost, but most Altimo models have basic controls and smaller capacities. Bosch offers more built-in engineering: the KSV36VLEP has SuperCooling and a reversible door, while the KSV36VWEPG adds auto defrost and a VitaFresh compartment. Bosch's KTR15NWEAG is a 134-litre larder model with Super Cool and LED lighting, which gives buyers a lower-priced Bosch undercounter option for a compact kitchen.

Altimo suits first homes, student rooms, offices and landlords who need a second fridge for drinks at the lowest possible cost. Its undercounter models suit small kitchens where worktop height is the main constraint. Bosch suits households that want a full-height larder for family shopping, or buyers who prefer durable shelving and neat controls. Anyone choosing a tall Bosch should measure the niche height, door swing and ventilation gap first, because the 1860mm KSV36VLEP needs far more room than an undercounter unit and the energy running costs add up over a full year.

Bottom line: choose Altimo if you need the cheapest working fridge for light use or a compact undercounter space, such as the ALD5502W at £159. Choose Bosch if you want a larger freestanding larder fridge with SuperCooling and a reversible door, such as the KSV36VLEP at £699.
