Bosch vs Siemens Fridges

Bosch and Siemens both make 346-litre tall fridges, so the choice between them often comes down to features and finish. Bosch's KSV36VLEP 346L freestanding larder fridge in inox costs £699, and its KSV36VWEPG 346L freestanding fridge is £639. Siemens' iQ300 KS36VVIEPG 346L tall larder fridge in inox is £799, and its iQ500 KS36VAXEP 346L tall fridge in black steel is £899. Bosch's KTL15NWECG 120L undercounter fridge with icebox, at £299, offers a smaller alternative for tighter spaces.

Bosch's VitaFresh Pro technology, NoFrost and SuperCooling function keep food fresh and chill new shopping quickly, while its Perfect Fit design fits flush with cabinetry. Siemens' hyperFresh drawer and HyperFreshPlus on the iQ500 aim to keep produce fresher, the superCooling function and antiFingerprint finish on the iQ300 help keep stainless steel tidy, and its noFrost system stops ice formation. Home Connect on compatible models lets owners adjust temperature and receive door-open alerts from a smartphone. The iQ500 carries a C rating for noise at 39 dB.

Bosch suits households who want a flush-fitting larder fridge with a 2-year standard warranty and everyday reliability at a lower price than Siemens. Its drawbacks are costly replacement parts and limited colour options in some ranges. Siemens suits buyers who want smart control through Home Connect and premium preservation for produce, and who accept that its premium features may need WiFi and that built-in models are best installed by a professional. Its warranty is 2 years standard, extendable to five.

Bottom line: choose Bosch if you want a 346-litre fridge at £639 or £699 with VitaFresh and a flush fit, choose Siemens if you want Home Connect and hyperFresh preservation in an iQ300 at £799 or an iQ500 at £899.
