Indesit vs LG Microwaves

Indesit and LG both target value-conscious buyers, but LG is cheaper at the entry point. The LG MS2042D is £74 for a 20-litre, 700W model with touch controls, while the LG MH6336GIB is £99.99 for a 23-litre, 1000W unit with a grill. Indesit starts with the MWI120GX at £179, an 800W, 20-litre microwave grill in stainless steel, then moves to the MWI125GX at £199 and the 40-litre built-in IP252RXUK at £369.

The main technical contrast is in cooking modes and installation. Indesit's grill models brown food, and the IMK12BUK adds a built-in 22-litre, 750W cavity with grill for fitted kitchens. The MWI125GX provides 900W in a freestanding 25-litre body. LG's MH6336GIB combines 1000W with a grill, the highest power in this set, while the MS2042D has an antibacterial easy-clean interior, a roller ring turntable, one touch control and a child safety lock. Some LG models also offer ThinQ app control, but only on compatible units, so check the model before expecting smartphone features.

Indesit suits buyers who want a fitted kitchen microwave with a grill, and the 40-litre built-in is the largest cavity this brand offers in the pairing. Its stainless steel finish suits most kitchens. LG suits budget buyers who need a simple microwave for reheating, or a 23-litre grill model for family meals, and who do not want to plan a kitchen installation. Anyone with a tight budget can buy the MS2042D for £105 less than the MWI120GX.

Bottom line: choose Indesit if you want a built-in or grill microwave for a fitted kitchen, especially the IP252RXUK at £369 for a 40-litre cavity. Choose LG if you need a basic freestanding microwave, the MS2042D at £74 or the grill-equipped MH6336GIB at £99.99, and price matters most.
