Bosch Series 8 WQB246C9GB 9kg Heat Pump Dryer - White vs — Comparison
The Bosch WQB246C9GB is a 9kg front-loading heat pump dryer listed at £999, with an annual energy figure of 174 kWh and an A+++ rating. The Bosch WRB247C9GB is listed at £1,199 and is a 9kg smart heat pump dryer, a £200 premium over the cheaper model.
The WQB246C9GB offers 12 programmes, a delay timer, Home Connect app control, a filter-full indicator, a time-remaining display and a noise figure of 58. Its full-load cycle is 176 minutes and its half-load cycle 121 minutes, and no vent hose is included. The WRB247C9GB is the smart model, so app control is part of its appeal.
Buyers of the WRB247C9GB say it is quiet and gentle on clothes, and they like that it can be plugged in and used straight away and plumbed in later if wanted. They also say its large drum matches a Bosch washing machine and leaves clothes dry and not very creased, and the feedback on it is uniformly positive. Both are heat pump dryers, so the drying temperature stays lower than in vented models, and the choice comes down mainly to the £200 gap and whether app control matters to you.
Bottom line: choose the Bosch WQB246C9GB if you want the cheaper dryer with app control and detailed cycle figures, or the WRB247C9GB if you want the smart model and can pay £200 more.
