Miele 8kg 1400rpm Active Honeycomb Washing Machine - White vs 9kg 1400rpm Twin Dos & Steam Washing Machine - White — Comparison

The Miele WWA120WCS is an 8kg, 1400rpm washing machine listed at £799, and the Miele WWG880WCS is a 9kg, 1400rpm model listed at £1,399. Both are white, both carry an A energy grade and a two-year guarantee, and both spin at 1400rpm.

The WWA120WCS offers 12 programmes, a 20-minute quick wash, a honeycomb drum, CapDosing, an energy figure of 43 and a water figure of 48, but no smart features. The WWG880WCS adds smart connectivity, 24 programmes, Twin Dos auto-dispensing, SteamCare and a 49-minute QuickPowerWash. The extra kilogram and the auto-dispensing are the main differences between them.

Buyers of the WWA120WCS praise its wash results, its quiet operation and a right-hand door opening that suits some utility rooms. Its main complaints are that standard cycles can run for around three and a half hours, that it gives no sound when finished, and that it sticks out beyond a standard worktop. Both come with a two-year guarantee, so the price gap reflects capacity and features rather than cover. If your worktop run is tight, allow for the protruding depth when planning the layout. Buyers describe the WWG880WCS as a good washer that is worth the extra money, especially at a discounted price, and they praise its performance from the first wash.

Bottom line: choose the WWA120WCS if you want a solid 8kg Miele at £799 and do not need smart features, and choose the WWG880WCS if you need the extra capacity, smart control and auto-dispensing and can justify £600 more.
