Miele 9kg 1400rpm Twin Dos & Steam Washing Machine - White vs 9kg 1600rpm Twin Dos & Steam Washing Machine - White — Comparison

The Miele WWG880WCS is a 9kg, 1400rpm Twin Dos and Steam washing machine listed at £1,399. The Miele WWJ880 is the same 9kg Twin Dos and Steam design with a 1600rpm spin, listed at £1,649. Both have QuickPowerWash with a 49-minute quick wash time, CapDosing, SteamCare and 68dB noise ratings, and both carry an A energy grade and a B spin efficiency. The two differ in spin speed and programme count.

The WWJ880 has 11 programmes against 24 on the WWG880WCS. It also carries an energy consumption figure of 40 and a water consumption figure of 50. Both include pre-wash, half-load, wool and hand-wash options, a delay start and a two-year guarantee. The higher spin speed of the WWJ880 usually leaves washing drier before it goes in a dryer or on a line, which matters if you dry outdoors or use a tumble dryer. The cheaper model's larger programme menu gives more choice of cycle.

Buyers of both machines praise the clean results, the performance from the first wash and the value for money. One long-time Miele owner says the discount made the purchase easy, and the feedback is encouraging across the board.

Bottom line: choose the Miele WWG880WCS if you want the lower price and 24 programmes and a 1400rpm spin is enough; choose the Miele WWJ880 if you want the faster 1600rpm spin and the listed energy and water figures, and can pay the extra £250.
