Beko vs White Knight Tumble Dryers

Beko and White Knight both compete on budget, and both have models from £249. Beko's 8kg DTLCE80051W condenser and 7kg DTGCT7000W condenser are £249 each, with the 9kg B5T49231IG heat pump at £439 and the B5T49231RW at £469 at the top. White Knight's models here are the 8kg AT8CW condenser at £249, the 9kg AT9CW condenser at £279 and the 8kg AT8HP heat pump at £299.

Both ranges offer practical controls. The three White Knight models each have 15 programmes and an anti-crease function, and the AT8HP provides heat pump drying for less than any of Beko's heat pumps. Beko adds more variety: its condensers include sensor drying programmes, automatic anti-creasing and a quick dry programme on the DTGCT7000W, while its 9kg heat pumps add IronFinish and, on the B5T49231RW, RapiDry design. Beko's heat pumps are the more capable step up for anyone who wants efficient drying at 9kg. White Knight's three models are all 8kg or 9kg, so capacity is similar across the pair.

White Knight suits renters, spare rooms and buyers who want a dependable dryer at the lowest possible outlay. Its AT8HP heat pump is a good option if you want heat pump drying for under £300. Beko suits families who want a 9kg capacity and a wider choice of programmes. The step from White Knight's AT8HP to Beko's 9kg B5T49231IG heat pump is £140, which is worth weighing against how often you dry clothes. A family doing several loads a week will notice the drum size more than the price gap.

Bottom line: choose Beko if you want a 9kg heat pump with IronFinish or RapiDry from £439, with more programmes on the top models. Choose White Knight if the lowest possible cost matters most, with the AT8HP heat pump at £299 or the condensers at £249.
