Bosch vs Hotpoint Cookers

Bosch and Hotpoint serve different kitchens. Bosch's premium built-in ovens include the HRG7764B1B with steam at £1,699, the HSG7584B1 with steam at £1,919 and the HMG7764B1B with microwave at £1,939. Hotpoint's freestanding cookers include the HDM67V9HCXUK 600mm double electric cooker at £499, the HDM67V92HCBUK freestanding ceramic model at £513, the Hotpoint Cannon CD67V9H2CAUK ceramic double oven at £659 and the HDT67I9HM2CUK electric double cooker with induction hob at £749.

Hotpoint's cookers combine a hob and oven in one unit. The HDT67I9HM2CUK has a four-zone induction hob with a Combi Duo Bridge Zone, 47 and 77 litre oven capacities and a Solar Plus grill, while the CD67V9H2CAUK has a four-zone ceramic hob and catalytic liners in the main oven. Hot air circulation on the HDM67V9HCXUK prevents flavours combining, the HDM67V92HCBUK's hot air ensures even cooking, and its ceramic hob heats quickly and is easy to clean. Bosch's ovens focus on programmes, steam and Home Connect control, and they do not include a hob.

Bosch suits premium fitted kitchens where oven performance and cleaning matter most, and where the buyer is willing to pay for steam or microwave combination cooking. Hotpoint suits households replacing an old cooker who want a hob and oven together at a lower price. The HDT67I9HM2CUK at £749 costs £1,190 less than the HMG7764B1B at £1,939, and its induction hob is the main upgrade over the ceramic models. Buyers who want a simple freestanding cooker should look at the HDM67V9HCXUK at £499.

Bottom line: choose Bosch if you want a high-end built-in oven with steam and advanced programmes, starting at £1,699 with the HRG7764B1B, and choose Hotpoint if you need a freestanding cooker with hob included, such as the HDM67V9HCXUK at £499 or the induction HDT67I9HM2CUK at £749.
