Bosch vs Rangemaster Cookers

Bosch and Rangemaster approach the cooker market from opposite directions. Bosch is known for built-in ovens, and the Series 8 range is its headline line here, with the HRG7764B1B steam oven at £1,699, the HSG7584B1 steam oven at £1,919, the HMG7764B1B microwave oven at £1,939 and the CMG778NB1 compact microwave oven at £2,039. Rangemaster builds complete cookers with hob and oven together, including the Professional Plus 60 PROPL60ECBLC at £829, the Classic 60 CLA60EICRC induction cooker at £935 and the Classic CLA60ECCR/C ceramic cooker at £879.

The gap between the cheapest Rangemaster at £829 and the cheapest Bosch at £1,699 is £870. Bosch is oven-technology led: steam keeps roasts juicy and improves bread crusts, the HMG7764B1B combines oven and microwave cooking to shorten cooking times, and Home Connect lets you preheat and monitor the oven from a phone. The CLA60EICRC offers an induction hob for fast, responsive cooking, and both the Professional Plus and Classic 60 models have variable grills for low or high heat, with special liners that absorb grease.

Bosch suits a keen cook fitting a new or refitted kitchen who wants a premium oven with steam or microwave functions and is happy to pair it with a separate hob. The 45cm CMG778NB1 works well as a second oven above a main unit. Rangemaster suits households that want hob and oven in one traditional cooker, especially if there is no fitted-kitchen plan. The two-cavity layout helps when you need to cook and grill at different temperatures, and anyone who wants induction should look at the CLA60EICRC or the Professional + PROPL60EIBL/C at £935.

Bottom line: choose Bosch if you are fitting a kitchen and want steam, microwave or Home Connect control in a built-in oven from £1,699. Choose Rangemaster if you want hob and oven in one cooker from £829, or induction from £935 with the Classic 60 CLA60EICRC.
