Dualit vs KitchenAid Kettles

Dualit and KitchenAid both sell 1.5-litre kettles, but they approach the job from opposite ends of the market. Dualit's models here run from £79 for the 72000 Lite stainless-steel jug to £99 for the brushed Architect 72905, with the white 72015 Lite at £89. KitchenAid's Artisan kettle with a 3kW element costs £179 in Pistachio, Almond Cream or Black. The cheapest Dualit therefore sits £100 below the cheapest Artisan.

Dualit's jugs share a 1.5-litre capacity, a non-drip spout and dual measuring windows, and the 72000 Lite is the one with a rapid 3kW boil. The Architect models add a limescale filter and a cordless base, with the 72926 rated at 2300W and the 72905 at 3000W. KitchenAid's Artisan matches the top Dualit's 3kW power and adds a smooth, rounded body. The gap is less about boiling speed and more about finish and how the kettle sits alongside other appliances.

Dualit suits buyers who want a sturdy everyday kettle with a stainless or brushed finish and a limescale filter, particularly in a hard-water area. KitchenAid suits people building a coordinated kitchen around Artisan stand mixers, who want the kettle to be a visible design piece on the worktop. A household that boils a few cups a day will be well served by either. Choose the colour carefully before buying the Artisan, because Pistachio, Almond Cream and Black are a large part of its appeal. If a kettle is used several times a day, a robust build and a limescale filter are the features that earn their keep over time.

Bottom line: choose Dualit if you want a durable 1.5-litre kettle with a limescale filter for under £100, choose KitchenAid if the kettle is part of a coordinated Artisan kitchen and the colour matters as much as the price.
