Hisense 5i Series 12kg 1400rpm Washing Machine vs 10.5kg Load 1400rpm Spin Washing Machine with Auto Dosing — Comparison

The Hisense 5i Series WF5I1245BWR is a 12kg washing machine at £649 with a KitchenFit design, while the Hisense WF5S1045BW is a 10.5kg model at £449 with auto dosing. Both spin at 1400rpm, both carry an A energy grade and a 72dB A-rated noise level, and both support app control.

The 5i has the larger drum, 12kg against 10.5kg, and 18 programmes against 14. Its KitchenFit design measures 595mm wide and 595mm deep, with a height of 885mm, which suits a kitchen run. It adds a pre-wash, delicate wash, variable temperature, half load option and a touch colour display, which the cheaper model lacks. Its energy figure is 32 against 52, though its water figure is slightly higher at 43 against 41, and its quick wash runs 49 minutes against 15. It weighs 74kg against 71kg.

Buyers of the 5i praise its large drum for heavy loads, its automatic detergent and softener dispensing, quiet running and easy app. Several say it sits flush in the kitchen and looks good. The main complaint is a noisy drain pump that cuts in and out during the spin. The WF5S1045BW earns similarly quiet, simple feedback, with buyers liking its auto dosing and sleek design.

Bottom line: choose the Hisense WF5I1245BWR if you want a 12kg drum, a KitchenFit design and the lower energy figure and can pay £200 more, or choose the Hisense WF5S1045BW if you want a smaller, cheaper machine with auto dosing.
