Hisense 9kg 1400rpm Washing Machine - White vs 10.5kg Load 1400rpm Spin Washing Machine with Auto Dosing — Comparison

The Hisense WF3S9043BW3 is a 9kg, 1400rpm washing machine listed at £299, and the Hisense WF5S1045BW is a 10.5kg, 1400rpm model with auto dosing at £449. Both carry an A energy grade, a 2-year guarantee, a 72dB noise rating and an anti-flood device, so the decision rests mainly on capacity, dosing and running costs.

The 10.5kg model adds auto dosing and is 585mm wide and 590mm deep, against 600mm wide and 550mm deep for the 9kg model. The 9kg machine has 16 programmes against 14, a 30-minute quick wash against 15 minutes, and it also offers delicate and variable temperature settings that the larger model does not. Its energy consumption figure is 34 against 52 for the larger model, a meaningful gap even though both carry an A grade, and water use is 39 against 41. Both are smart washers that work with an app.

Owners of the 9kg machine praise how quiet it is, its wide and easy-to-use programme choice, the easy set-up and the app, which buyers use regularly. The one recurring complaint is that the finishing beep is too quiet. Buyers of the 10.5kg model are almost entirely positive, praising auto dosing that can be switched off per programme, app alerts when a cycle ends, quiet running and a sleek design, and one says the self-dosing has cut detergent use.

Bottom line: choose the WF3S9043BW3 if you want the lower price, the 30-minute quick wash and the most programmes, and choose the WF5S1045BW if you need the larger 10.5kg drum and auto dosing and accept its higher energy consumption.
