Acer vs ViewSonic Projectors

Acer and ViewSonic cover much the same ground, from cheap presentation projectors to 4K home cinema models. Acer's models here run from £305.99 for the X1128H to £968.99 for the H6815BD. ViewSonic starts with the PA503S at £288.99, the cheapest projector in this comparison, and reaches the LSC601WU at £1,677.99. The PA700W at £329.99 and the PX701-4K at £790.99 sit in between.

ViewSonic's strengths are colour and connectivity, with 4K UHD resolution and HDR support, SuperColour colour technology, WiFi streaming, vertical lens shift and HDMI 2.0 inputs. The PX701-4K brings 4K at 3200 ANSI lumens with 12000:1 contrast, while the LSC601WU is a 6000-lumen WUXGA 3LCD model with a 21:9 aspect ratio, suited to Microsoft Teams Rooms. Acer counters with the H6830BD, a 4K DLP model with 4000 lumens, 10,000:1 contrast, HDR support and a built-in 10 W speaker.

Acer suits people who want a home cinema on a budget, particularly the H6830BD for 4K films, and presenters who only need the X1128H's SVGA picture. ViewSonic suits a wider mix of buyers. The PA503S is a cheap SVGA business projector, the PA700W offers a screen up to 300 inches, and the PX701-4K is pitched at gamers who want 4K. The LSC601WU fits a meeting room or a fixed installation. ViewSonic models can run fan noise in high-brightness mode and have limited built-in audio.

Bottom line: choose Acer if you want a 4K home cinema projector with a built-in speaker, such as the H6830BD at £887.99, or a basic SVGA projector for presentations at £305.99. Choose ViewSonic if you want the lowest cost at £288.99 for simple presentations, a screen of up to 300 inches with the PA700W at £329.99, or the LSC601WU at £1,677.99 for a meeting room.
