Acer vs Nebula Projectors

Acer and Nebula sit at opposite ends of the projector market, although their prices overlap. Acer's models here run from £305.99 for the X1128H to £968.99 for the H6815BD. Nebula, which is Anker's projector brand, runs from the soundcore P1i at £402.99 to the D2426212 at £753.99, with the N2325212 at £572.99 and the soundcore P1 at £703.99 in between.

Acer's advantage is resolution and brightness. The H6830BD and H6815BD are 4K UHD DLP models with 4000 lumens and 10,000:1 contrast, and the H6546Ki is Full HD at 5200 ANSI lumens. Nebula's models are Full HD but considerably dimmer, at 300 to 650 ANSI lumens, and they work best in a darkened room. Nebula's strengths are built-in features. The soundcore P1 has detachable 20W Dolby Audio speakers, the P1i has flippable 10W speakers, and both bring smart streaming, autofocus and automatic keystone correction.

Acer suits buyers who want a bright projector with a proper 4K picture for a dedicated room, or a cheap projector for presentations and school work. Nebula suits people who want a simple all-in-one projector for films and TV in a bedroom or flat, without a separate streaming stick or speakers. Its compact bodies are easy to move around the house or take to a friend's home. The D2426212 can run from a power bank over PD charging, which helps when no socket is nearby.

Bottom line: choose Acer if you want 4K resolution and higher brightness for a dedicated room, such as the H6830BD at £887.99. Choose Nebula if you want a compact, self-contained projector with built-in streaming and speakers, starting with the soundcore P1i at £402.99 and stepping up to the soundcore P1 at £703.99 for detachable speakers and a brighter picture.
