AEG vs Indesit Tumble Dryers

AEG and Indesit cover the tumble dryer market, but from different ends of the price scale. AEG's heat pump range opens with the AEG TR818P4B 8000 at £499 and rises to the AEG TR849P4B 8000 AbsoluteCare at £1049, with the AEG TR708L0B 7000 SensiDry at £579 sitting in between. Indesit starts with the Indesit CYDA81WWGLUK 8kg vented dryer at £249, and its 9kg heat pump models, the Indesit YT M11 92 X UK and YT M11 92SS X UK, cost £399 and £489. The cheapest AEG costs £250 more than the cheapest Indesit.

AEG's models lean on heat pump technology and fabric care. The TR849P4B pairs an AbsoluteCare programme with a sensor dryer and timer delay, while the T6DBG822N is a condenser model with a ProTex gentle drum and caring crease reduction. AEG also includes ProSense sensing that adjusts drying time to load size, and its TR708L0B adds MixDry and SensiDry. Indesit keeps things simpler. The vented CYDA81WWGLUK uses an LED marker and 15 cycles, one condenser model adds an anti-crease function and start delay, and the 9kg heat pumps offer a Push&Go cycle.

AEG suits households that want strong fabric care and are prepared to pay for it, such as families with delicate wardrobes or anyone who dries wool regularly. Indesit suits budget-conscious families, renters and students who need a dependable 8kg or 9kg dryer for everyday loads. Its vented model suits homes with an external wall vent, while its heat pump models suit homes without a vent, since condenser and heat pump dryers do not need one.

Bottom line: choose AEG if fabric care and heat pump efficiency matter more than price, and the TR818P4B at £499 is the entry point. Choose Indesit if you need a reliable dryer for less than the £499 AEG entry price, with the 9kg heat pump YT M11 92 X UK at £399 offering the best value on this list.
