Indesit vs LG Tumble Dryers

Indesit and LG sit at opposite ends of the market. Indesit's line-up starts with the Indesit CYDA81WWGLUK 8kg vented dryer at £249 and includes the Indesit YT M11 92 X UK 9kg heat pump at £399, with a silver version of the same model at £489. LG's heat pumps begin with the LG FDT208S 8kg at £499 and rise to the LG FDV909BN 9kg at £799. The Indesit YT M11 92 X UK costs £100 less than the LG FDT208S, which makes it the clear budget choice for a heat pump.

Indesit keeps its features straightforward. The vented CYDA81WWGLUK offers an LED marker and 15 cycles, and the 9kg heat pumps add a Push&Go cycle and 15 programmes. Its condenser models include an anti-crease function and a start delay. LG's heat pumps add a moisture sensor and 15 drying programmes on the FDT208S, a Quick 34 cycle, and LG Smart Pairing on the 9kg FDV909BN and FDV309GN. The LG range also supports ThinQ app control and Dual Inverter technology.

Indesit suits renters, students and families who need a reliable dryer at the lowest price, particularly if they already have an external vent for the vented model. LG suits buyers who want a 9kg heat pump with smart pairing and a quick cycle, and who are prepared to spend £649 or more. A household needing a 9kg heat pump could weigh the Indesit YT M11 92 X UK at £399 against the LG FDV309GN at £649, a £250 difference, with the LG adding smart pairing and a quick cycle.

Bottom line: choose Indesit if you want a heat pump for under £400, and the YT M11 92 X UK at £399 is the best value here. Choose LG if smart pairing and a quick cycle justify £649 or more, with the FDV309GN as the most accessible 9kg LG model.
