Hisense vs Schonhaus Tumble Dryers

Hisense and Schonhaus both offer heat pump dryers at accessible prices, but Hisense has the broader range. Hisense starts at the 9kg DHQA902U at £341, with the 8kg DH3S802BB3 at £469 and the 10kg DH5S102BB at £499. Schonhaus keeps to a single 8kg heat pump, available as the TDSHF018A3W in white or the TDSHF018A3G in graphite, both at £489.99.

Heat pump drying is the common ground. Hisense's heat pumps recycle warm air and use far less electricity than a condenser dryer, and its models add features such as Auto Dry, Ion Refresh and Quick Dry. The 9kg DHQA902U includes Allergy Care and a reversible drum, while the 8kg DH3S802BB3 offers Wi-Fi connectivity. Schonhaus adds sensor drying on the graphite model and needs no external vent, because it is ventless and collects water internally. Its range is limited to one capacity, so there is no choice of drum size.

Hisense suits families who need a bigger drum, with the 10kg DH5S102BB in black, or a budget 9kg heat pump at £341. Its black and white finishes match its washing machines. Schonhaus suits couples and small households who want heat pump running costs and a graphite finish that works in a darker utility room. Its 8kg drum handles everyday loads, though it may feel small for households that dry bedding and towels in bulk. Heat pump cycles take longer than condenser cycles, so plan drying times around your routine. Buyers who want a dryer that needs no vent will also find Schonhaus simple to install.

Bottom line: choose Hisense if you need a 9kg or 10kg drum or the lowest price from £341, choose Schonhaus if you want a simple 8kg heat pump at £489.99 with a graphite option and no vent hose.
