Hotpoint vs Indesit Dishwashers

Hotpoint and Indesit both target buyers who want dependable washing without paying premium prices, and their ranges overlap closely. Hotpoint offers four models from £299 to £349, running from the 9-place Hotpoint HF9E 1B19 Slimline up to the 14-place Hotpoint HFC3C26WCXUK, with the Hotpoint HF9E1B19SUK at £329 in between. Indesit sits a little lower, from £259 for the freestanding Indesit D2FHK26UK to £299 for the Indesit DF9E 1B10 S UK Slimline, which matches the Hotpoint slimline on price.

Hotpoint's main talking points are 3D Zone Wash, which the brand says delivers up to 40% more cleaning power on baked-on food, and the ActiveDry system on the HFC3C26WCXUK that opens the door at the end of the cycle so dishes can air dry. Indesit keeps things simpler. The D2FHK26UK and its silver twin use button and rotary dial controls with a cutlery basket, salt indicator and half-load setting, while the 14-place D2F HK26 B UK adds a start delay of up to 8 hours. On efficiency the pair are close, with Hotpoint citing 9.5 litres per cycle and Indesit 9 to 11 litres on the Eco programme.

Hotpoint suits families who want more washing options for the money. The HFC3C26WCUK at £316 is a 14-place machine with a 30-minute quick wash and quiet running, which suits a busy household that runs the dishwasher every evening. Indesit is the sensible pick for anyone who wants basic controls at the lowest price. The D2FHK26UK at £259 covers the essentials, including a half-load setting for small loads, and works well in a flat or a second kitchen.

Bottom line: choose Hotpoint if you want 3D Zone Wash, flexible loading and a 14-place model with a quick wash, particularly the HFC3C26WCXUK at £349. Choose Indesit if the priority is the lowest price, with the D2FHK26UK at £259 offering a salt indicator and half-load setting for less.
