Beko suits a flat, rental or second kitchen where a simple gas or ceramic hob covers everyday cooking. AEG asks for professional installation, and Beko recommends it, so both need a fitter for a new hob. Induction models in either range need magnetic cookware, so check existing pans with a magnet before buying.

Bottom line: choose AEG if you want bridge zones, SensePro control and a five-year warranty from £379 for gas or £439 for induction, choose Beko if the lowest price matters most, with gas from £119 and induction from £219.
