AEG vs Creda Hobs

AEG and Creda take very different routes to a hob. AEG covers both gas and induction, with the IAE84411FB 750mm four-zone induction hob at £679 at the top of its range and the HGB64420YM 60cm stainless steel gas hob at £378 at the bottom. Creda specialises in ceramic cooking, with the C60CTC 60cm four-zone ceramic hob at £195 and the C70CTC 70cm four-zone ceramic hob at £249. The £430 gap between the AEG IAE84411FB and the Creda C70CTC shows what AEG's induction premium costs compared with a simple ceramic surface.

Control and flexibility define AEG's technology. Its induction hobs include SenseBoil and Direktouch controls, while the 750mm IAE84411FB adds auto switch off, a bridge function for larger cookware and a power boost of up to 3.7kW. Creda's technology is straightforward but useful. The C70CTC offers nine adjustable heat levels, a keep-warm setting and an auto heating function, while the C60CTC has front touch controls, keep-warm and a child lock.

Cooks who want responsive induction or a wider gas surface from one brand will find AEG worth the premium. Creda suits buyers who want a simple ceramic hob with familiar controls, especially a 70cm option, without moving to induction. Ceramic hobs work with any flat-bottomed pan, so existing cookware can stay. They cook more slowly than induction and the surface stays hot after cooking, so keep children away and allow time to cool. Check the cut-out, since the 70cm Creda needs a wider opening than the 60cm model.

Bottom line: choose AEG if you want a choice between induction and gas, touch controls and a premium finish, with the £439 IAE64411FB as the entry point to induction. Choose Creda if you want a simple four-zone ceramic hob that works with your existing pans, with the £195 C60CTC or the £249 70cm C70CTC offering the most space.
