Creda vs Hoover Hobs

Creda and Hoover take different routes to a budget hob. Creda's C70CTC 70cm 4 Zone Ceramic Hob costs £249 and its C60CTC 60cm 4 Zone Ceramic Hob costs £195. Hoover's H-Hob 300 Gas HHW6LK3X 4 Gas Burner Hob in stainless steel is priced from £139 to £169, and its HHG6BRMX Built-In Gas Hob with four burners is £169. Creda sells electric ceramic hobs, while Hoover focuses on gas.

Creda's ceramic hobs offer nine adjustable heat levels, a keep warm function and auto heating, with front touch controls and a child lock on the C60CTC. The glass surface wipes clean easily and works with any flat-bottomed pan, so induction-only cookware is not needed. Hoover's hobs use four gas burners with side dial controls and a stainless steel finish, giving the visible flame control many cooks prefer. Gas responds quickly when you turn the dial, but ceramic heats more slowly, and the stainless steel surface needs regular cleaning to stay looking good.

Creda suits people who want electric cooking without buying induction pans, and anyone who wants a 70cm option for more space between pans. Hoover suits households with an existing gas supply that are replacing a worn hob on a limited budget, or landlords who want a simple four-burner model. Hoover's 60cm size fits standard cut-outs, but a gas hob must be fitted by a Gas Safe engineer, which adds to the installation cost.

Bottom line: choose Creda if you cook on electric and want a 70cm ceramic hob with keep warm and auto heating, such as the C70CTC at £249, and choose Hoover if you have a gas supply and want the cheapest four-burner hob, such as the HHW6LK3X from £139.
