Belling vs Hoover Hobs

Belling pairs an affordable gas model, the GHU603RISTA 60cm Gas Hob in stainless steel at £219, with the IHT6013BLK 60cm Induction Hob with touch controls at £259 or £229. Hoover competes mainly on budget gas, listing the H-Hob 300 Gas HHW6LK3X 4 Gas Burner Hob at £169, the HHG6BRMX Built-In Gas Hob 4-Burners at £169 and the HHW6LK3X at £139.

Belling’s advantage is fuel choice. The IHT6013BLK brings induction speed, touch control, wipe-clean glass and modern safety features, while the GHU603RISTA keeps gas available. Hoover is more narrowly focused on four-burner gas hobs with stainless steel finishes, rotary controls and conventional pan supports. That makes Hoover cheaper for gas-only buyers, but Belling is stronger for households considering a move away from flame cooking.

Belling suits buyers who want a modest upgrade path and may value induction efficiency, safer cool-to-touch areas and easier cleaning. Hoover suits landlords, replacement buyers and home cooks who simply want an inexpensive built-in gas hob from a well-known appliance name. Running-cost comparisons depend on gas and electricity tariffs, but induction can reduce heat waste; Hoover’s lower gas pricing, however, keeps the initial outlay very attractive. For UK buyers, also check the electrical connection, worktop cut-out, ventilation plan and pan compatibility before judging the headline price, because installation extras can change the real basket cost more than a small difference between models. Cleaning style matters too: gas hardware needs lifting and soaking, whereas glass electric or induction surfaces reward quick wipe-downs after spills day to day.

Bottom line: choose Belling if you want affordable induction as well as gas choice / opt for Hoover if your priority is a cheaper four-burner gas hob for a straightforward replacement.
