Bosch vs Miele Dishwashers
Both are German engineering benchmarks, but at very different prices. Bosch (Series 2 from £399) delivers most of what buyers need at a fraction of the Miele price: EcoSilence Drive motors, VarioDrawer flexibility, and zeolite drying on Series 6 and above. The SMS2HVI67G (£449) fits 14 place settings with solid all-round performance.
Miele (from £864, G5310SC) justifies its premium with AutoOpen door drying — the door unlatches automatically post-cycle to ventilate — and PerfectDry zeolite absorption for bone-dry results every time. The G5740SC (£969) adds AutoOpen as standard. Miele design their machines for a 20-year lifespan, and the motor is built accordingly.
Bottom line: choose Bosch for excellent dishwashing performance at a sensible price. Choose Miele if you want the best drying on the market and plan to keep the machine for 15–20 years.
