Bosch vs Samsung Dishwashers

Bosch and Samsung are close on price, with Bosch's four models at £399 to £449 and Samsung's two at £449 and £549. Bosch's options include the 12-place SMS26AW08G at £399, the 14-place Wi-Fi SMS2HVI67G at £449, and the Home Connect models SPS4HMW49G and SPS2IKW01G, both at £449. Samsung's DW60BG730FSLEU costs £449, while the Series 6 DW60DG760FSLU4 costs £549. The Bosch SMS26AW08G is £50 cheaper than the Samsung DW60BG730FSLEU. The Samsung DW60DG760FSLU4 at £549 is £100 more than the Bosch SMS2HVI67G.

Samsung's differences are its water-jet cleaning and SmartThings control. The DW60BG730FSLEU has a Flex Load System and Aqua Stop, and the DW60DG760FSLU4 adds auto door open and an Extra Silence programme. Samsung's Zone Booster targets heavily soiled pots and pans. Bosch counters with PerfectDry, which uses zeolite minerals to dry plastics, and EcoSilence Drive, rated at 39dB, which matches the noise figure Samsung quotes. Bosch's AquaSensor and LoadSensor also tune water use to each cycle. Samsung's cheapest model costs £449, the same as Bosch's Wi-Fi SMS2HVI67G.

Bosch suits households that want a choice of drying systems, Home Connect control on selected models and a 10-place option for smaller households. Samsung suits tech-minded buyers who want SmartThings remote monitoring and a Series 6 model with auto door opening. Both brands offer smart features, but Samsung's need a stable Wi-Fi connection, and replacement parts can be costly, so buyers should weigh service costs as well as features. The SPS2IKW01G offers five programmes and four wash temperatures at £449, suiting a simpler routine.

Bottom line: choose Bosch if you want PerfectDry drying and a choice of Home Connect or Wi-Fi models from £399 to £449, and choose Samsung if SmartThings control and water-jet cleaning are worth paying £449 to £549 for.
