Bosch vs LG Dishwashers

For UK dishwasher buyers, Bosch is anchored by the Bosch SMS2HVI67G Series 2 Dishwasher 14 Place Settings - Silver (£449), backed by Bosch SMS26AW08G Series 2 60cm 12 Place Setting Dishwasher - White (£399) and Bosch SPS4HMW49G Series 4 Dishwasher 10 Place Settings - White (£449). LG counters with the LG DF365FMS 14 Place Setting Freestanding Smart Dishwasher - Black (£629), plus LG DF243FVS 14 Place Setting Dishwasher - Silver (£499) and LG DF355FP 14 Place Setting Freestanding Smart Dishwasher - Silver (£649). The comparison is about engineering feel, drying quality, loading flexibility, smart features and how much of the budget you want to put into a machine that may run every day.

Bosch is the more engineering-led option: EcoSilence Drive, ExtraDry, adjustable baskets, load sensors, Eco 50 and Home Connect on selected units give it polish. LG pushes premium cleaning technology, with Inverter Direct Drive motors, QuadWash spray arms, hygiene cycles, ThinQ smart control and refined drying on 14-place machines. In day-to-day use, that means Bosch tends to feel more refined when glassware, pans and mixed loads share one basket, while LG puts more emphasis on app prompts, large place-setting figures and simple programmes that are easy to understand.

Bosch suits buyers who want quiet running, spares availability and predictable long-term ownership, especially if the dishwasher will run nightly and low noise, drying consistency and parts support matter. LG suits households that like smart controls, strong spray coverage and a more premium freestanding look, particularly if its capacity, finish or control style fits your kitchen better. Energy payback is normally modest between modern Eco programmes, so the better investment is the machine you will load correctly, maintain and actually use on its efficient cycle.

Bottom line: "choose Bosch if you want quieter, more polished dishwashing with stronger long-term confidence / opt for LG if you want lower upfront cost, useful capacity and practical features for everyday family loads."
