LG vs Samsung Dishwashers
LG targets smart premium-mainstream homes, led by the DF355FP (£649) with DF365FMS at £629 and DF243FVS at £499 also available. Samsung aims at smart mid-range households, headed by the DW60DG760FSLU4 Series 6 (£549) alongside DW60BG730FSLEU at £449. This is a choice between QuadWash, inverter drive and connected controls and Water Jet Clean, modern controls and strong programme variety, with UK prices from £499 to £649 versus £449 to £549.
Technically, LG offers QuadWash multi-motion spray arms, Inverter Direct Drive, 14-place loading, EasyRack-style adjustment, ThinQ smart monitoring and steam or extra-dry features on selected models. Samsung offers Water Jet Clean on the Series 6 model, 13-place capacity, nine programmes on the DW60BG730FSLEU, Auto Door Open drying and SmartThings-style monitoring on selected versions. So LG is strongest when quadwash, inverter drive and connected controls matters, while Samsung is stronger when water jet clean, modern controls and strong programme variety matters. Check fitting: the quoted LG machines are freestanding full-size appliances with modern silver or black finishes; the named Samsung machines are freestanding 60 cm dishwashers in silver finishes.
LG suits tech-friendly families who want stronger cleaning coverage and app visibility. Samsung suits buyers already using Samsung appliances or who want smart functions without premium European pricing. Value comes from different places: The higher price is easier to justify where better racks, quieter motor control and fewer rewashes matter more than the lowest ticket price. The £100 step from the older-looking model to Series 6 is mainly about cleaning system and interface upgrades rather than capacity. For UK bills, full loads, Eco programmes and avoiding pre-rinsing usually matter more than a small lab-rated efficiency gap.
Bottom line: choose LG if you want quadwash, inverter drive and connected controls and will use the features regularly; / opt for Samsung if water jet clean, modern controls and strong programme variety fits your kitchen, budget and wash routine better.
