Bosch vs Siemens Dishwashers

Bosch and Siemens share a German engineering tradition and a premium approach, but Siemens sits clearly higher on price. Bosch's models run from £399 for the 12-place SMS26AW08G to £449 for the 14-place SMS2HVI67G. Siemens's models cost £699 for the black SN23EC03ME, £799 for the SN25ZI07CE and the white SN25EW13CE, and £999 for the smart SN27TI02CE. The Siemens SN23EC03ME is £250 more than the Bosch SMS2HVI67G. The Siemens SN25EW13CE at £799 costs £350 more than the Bosch SPS4HMW49G at £449.

Both brands use zeolite drying, but Siemens focuses on speed and loading. Its varioSpeed Plus reduces washing time by up to 66%, and the flexComfort Pro baskets protect delicate items. The SN27TI02CE adds a Zeolith compartment and Home Connect app control, while the SN23EC03ME offers programme download and auto open drying. Bosch's PerfectDry and EcoSilence Drive, rated at 39dB, compete closely on drying and quietness, and its LoadSensor and AquaSensor control water use.

Siemens suits buyers who want the most features and are comfortable paying for them, particularly those who want Home Connect and fast programmes. Bosch suits buyers who want a similar German-engineered machine with quiet running at a more modest price, especially for a 14-place kitchen at £449. Siemens models can carry higher installation costs, and replacement parts can be expensive, so buyers should consider those costs as well as the price difference. Bosch's Home Connect model SPS4HMW49G at £449 costs £250 less than the Siemens SN23EC03ME at £699.

Bottom line: choose Bosch if you want a quiet, German-engineered dishwasher with PerfectDry drying for £399 to £449, and choose Siemens if varioSpeed Plus, Home Connect and flexComfort Pro baskets are worth paying £699 to £999 for.
