CDA vs Fisher & Paykel Hobs

CDA and Fisher & Paykel both sell built-in hobs, but Fisher & Paykel is a premium brand with much higher prices. CDA's line-up here includes the HPG6200SS stainless steel gas hob at £199, the HG6351SS 580mm gas hob at £209 and the HN6013FR plug-and-play induction hob at £279. Fisher & Paykel's options include the Series 5 CI904CTB1 90cm four-zone induction hob at £721 and the Series 5 CI905CTB2 90cm smart five-burner induction hob at £745.

Fisher & Paykel's hobs bring more features. The induction models use touch and slide controls, nine power levels, power boost and gentle heat settings, and smart zone technology that can bridge zones for larger cookware. Child and pet safety features and easy-clean surfaces are included, along with a 90cm width option. CDA keeps to the basics, with rotary dials and cast iron supports on its gas hobs, overflow detection and residual heat indicators on the plug-and-play induction hob, and widths of 58 to 60 centimetres.

CDA suits budget kitchen refreshes and homes without a cooker circuit, where the plug-and-play HN6013FR avoids rewiring costs. Fisher & Paykel suits premium kitchens that want a 5-year parts and labour warranty and smart connectivity on larger hobs. Buyers should expect professional installation, and possibly a 32-amp supply for Fisher & Paykel induction models, so the true cost goes beyond the hob price. Fisher & Paykel's 90cm models also need a wider cut-out, so measure before ordering. CDA's HC6621FR at £249 costs about a third of the cheapest Fisher & Paykel hob.

Bottom line: choose CDA if budget and a plug-in or simple gas hob matter more than features, with options from £199 to £279; choose Fisher & Paykel if you want a 90cm induction hob with smart zones, power boost and a 5-year warranty, and can spend from £721.
