CDA vs Hotpoint Hobs

CDA is the value-led choice for kitchens that cannot take a full cooker circuit, while Hotpoint covers a wider spread from budget gas to built-in induction. CDA's plug and play induction hob, the HN6013FR, costs £279, with the HG6351SS 580mm four-burner gas hob at £209 and the HPG6200SS gas hob at £199. Hotpoint's top model here is the FTGHG641DHBK, a 600mm built-in four-burner gas hob at £385, with the PPH60PFIXUK gas hob at £142 and the TQ1460SNE 590mm induction hob at £239 covering the entry end.

Technology separates them most clearly. The HN6013FR runs from a standard socket, which is why its power is limited compared with a cooker-circuit hob, though it still includes overflow detection and residual heat indicators. CDA's gas models use cast iron pan supports and rotary dials, and the HC6621FR ceramic hob offers nine power levels with an LED display. Hotpoint's FTGHG641DHBK adds vertical flame burners and dial controls, while the TQ1460SNE uses front touch controls across four zones. Hotpoint's models also carry a 10-year parts warranty, and its Flexi Zone design adapts to pans from 10cm to 40cm.

CDA suits budget refits, rented flats and homes where a plug and play hob avoids the cost of rewiring. Its gas hobs suit anyone replacing an older hob on a tight budget, provided a Gas Safe engineer fits them. Hotpoint suits households that want a wider choice of hob types and a longer parts warranty, particularly those who cook with large pans and want flexible zones.

Bottom line: choose CDA if you need a hob that runs from a standard socket, or a gas hob for under £210, such as the HG6351SS at £209. Choose Hotpoint if you want built-in induction with flexible zones and a 10-year parts warranty, or a premium gas hob such as the FTGHG641DHBK at £385.
