Miele vs Whirlpool Hobs

Miele and Whirlpool compete at the upper end of the hob market, with prices that overlap more than the brand names suggest. Miele's KM7361FL 60cm smart induction hob costs £619, while the KM7363FL 60cm four-burner induction hob with Con@ctivity is £779. Whirlpool's WFS1577CPNE 77cm four-zone induction hob is £599, the SMP778CNEIXL 770mm eight-zone induction hob is £799 and the GOWL 758/NB W Collection 75cm five-burner gas hob is £519. The Miele KM7361FL costs only £20 more than the Whirlpool WFS1577CPNE.

Miele's technology is built around control and connectivity. Its ranges use TempControl and PowerFlex zones for steady temperatures, automatic pan recognition detects cookware size and position, and Con@ctivity links the KM7363FL with a compatible hood. The KM7361FL adds Stop and Go and WiFi pairing, and its ceramic glass is made with a minimum thickness of 4mm. Whirlpool's hobs focus on space and layout: FlexiSide zones and Chef Control on the 77cm induction model, eight zones and 6th Sense technology on the 770mm model, and a five-burner gas option with PowerFlame burners.

Miele suits cooks who use their hob every day, want precise temperature control and value connected features that work with a hood. Whirlpool suits households who want a wider cooking surface, a larger gas hob or a premium design that fits an open-plan kitchen. Miele's induction models need magnetic cookware and a suitable circuit, and Whirlpool's 77cm hobs need wider cut-outs. Either way, factor in installation and cookware, not just the purchase price, when comparing these models.

Bottom line: choose Miele if precise induction control, Con@ctivity with a hood and a premium build matter most; choose Whirlpool if you want more surface area, a five-burner gas option or 6th Sense technology for a similar price.
