Bosch vs Indesit Cooker Hoods

Bosch covers the mid-to-premium end of this cooker hood comparison, with models priced from £399 for the black 80cm DWK85DK60B to £699 for the Series 4 DWK87FN60B with Home Connect. Indesit is the budget name, with chimney and visor designs in stainless steel and white starting from around £129 and chimney models rising to £229 for the IHPC9.5LMX.

Bosch's line-up covers more formats and features. The DWQ96DM50B at £549 is a 90cm wall-mounted slim pyramid hood with TouchSelect control, LED illumination and an intensive speed setting, while the DWK85DK60B adds a maximum extraction of 430 m³/h. The DHL785CGB at £649 is a 700mm stainless steel hood with washable aluminium filters and three speeds, and the DWK87FN60B adds EcoSilence and cooktop-based control with automatic shut off. Bosch's PerfectAir sensor adjusts extraction to cooking intensity, and its EcoSilence motor runs at around 40dB. Indesit keeps things basic: the IHPC9.5LMX offers three speeds plus an intensive setting, the UHPM63FCSX is a 600mm stainless steel chimney with a 68 dB maximum noise level and slider controls, the ISLK66LSX is a freestanding three-speed hood, and the ISLK 66F LS W is a white visor hood with a charcoal filter.

Bosch suits buyers who want smart control, a quieter hood and a choice of finishes, particularly in open-plan kitchens. Indesit suits budget kitchens and refits that need a simple, effective hood, with visor designs for limited wall space and chimney hoods for a standard layout above the hob. Most cooker hoods can recirculate air with carbon filters, so check the specification of each model.

Bottom line: choose Bosch if you want smart control, quieter running and a wider range of formats from £399; choose Indesit if you need a basic three-speed hood from around £129 or a visor design for a tight space.
