Bosch vs Rangemaster Cooker Hoods

Bosch covers the DWK85DK60B 80cm built-in hood at £399, the DWQ96DM50B 90cm wall-mounted slim pyramid at £549, the DHL785CGB 700mm stainless hood at £649 and the DWK87FN60B Series 4 at £699. Rangemaster offers the LEIHDC90BB 898mm chimney at £309, the CLAHDC90BC 900mm classic chimney at £399, the CLAHDC110BC 1100mm classic chimney at £425 and the RMHDT90SS 900mm chimney at £549. Rangemaster's cheapest hood is £90 below the least expensive Bosch. The CLAHDC110BC at £425 is the widest hood in the comparison, and it is priced below the Bosch DHL785CGB at £649.

Bosch's features are about touch and app control, with TouchSelect on two models, Home Connect on the DWK87FN60B and a maximum extraction of 430m³/h on the DWK85DK60B. Rangemaster's hoods are chimney designs with built-in lights and three speed settings, with variable speeds on the RMHDT90SS. The CLAHDC90BC includes a charcoal filter for recirculation, and the 1100mm CLAHDC110BC covers a wider cooker than any Bosch model in this comparison. The LEIHDC90BB at £309 is the lowest-priced Rangemaster hood, with a built-in light and a 65dB noise level.

Bosch suits a household that wants a built-in or wall-mounted hood with app control and a modern finish, particularly in a kitchen with other integrated appliances. Rangemaster suits a kitchen built around a range cooker, where a matching chimney hood at 900mm or 1100mm width fits the cooker better than a standard built-in unit. Bosch's built-in models sit flush in a kitchen unit, which Rangemaster's chimney designs do not.

Bottom line: choose Bosch if you want touch and app controls in an 80cm to 90cm built-in or wall-mounted hood from £399 to £699. Choose Rangemaster if you need a wide chimney hood to match a range cooker, from £309 to £549, with a built-in light.
