Altimo vs Schonhaus Washing Machines

Altimo and Schonhaus aim at different budgets. Altimo's line runs from the AWM6122W 6kg 1200rpm at £229 through the AWM8142W 8kg at £259 to the AWM10142W 10kg at £299. Schonhaus starts at £429.99 with the WMSF01814AW 8kg 1400rpm, then the WMSF01914AG 9kg at £449.99. Its range also includes a 10kg washer dryer, the WDSF0110614AW. Schonhaus is a mid-priced brand with a small range, so it offers fewer choices than the larger names.

Schonhaus keeps the specification simple but adds a few mid-market touches. Every model spins at 1400rpm, whereas Altimo's 6kg and 7kg machines stop at 1200rpm. The 8kg WMSF01814AW has a 3D Bubble Drum and 15 programmes, and the 9kg WMSF01914AG adds an Eco Inverter Motor. Selected Schonhaus models come in graphite, a finish Altimo does not offer, since its machines are white. The brand is strong on larger drums and washer dryers, but it offers few smart or app features, so buyers who want connectivity should look elsewhere.

Altimo suits landlords, students and first-time buyers who want a dependable machine at the lowest price, with a 10kg option for families. Schonhaus suits couples and small families who want an 8kg or 9kg drum with a consistent 1400rpm spin, a graphite finish or a washer dryer. The 8kg WMSF01814AW at £429.99 is about £171 more than the 8kg AWM8142W at £259, so buyers should be sure they value the finish and the consistent spin before paying that premium.

Bottom line: choose Altimo if you want the cheapest washer, including a 10kg drum at £299. Choose Schonhaus if you want an 8kg or 9kg machine with 1400rpm spin on every model, starting at £429.99 for the WMSF01814AW, or a washer dryer for a smaller home.
