Fisher & Paykel vs Hisense Fridge Freezers

Fisher & Paykel and Hisense sit at opposite ends of the UK fridge freezer market. Fisher & Paykel's 569-litre models run from the RF610ADJX7 American style fridge freezer at £2,346 to the RF540ANUX6 with ice and water at £2,698, with the RF540ADUX6 French door model at £2,498 in between. Hisense covers £399 to £1,939, from the RB435N4BWE at £399 to the RQ760N4IFE smart display model at £1,939.

Fisher & Paykel's identity rests on ActiveSmart technology, which adjusts temperature, airflow and humidity to how the fridge is used, plus humidity control drawers and high-grade stainless steel with soft-close doors. The RF540 models add ice and water dispensing, and split their 569 litres into 417 litres of fridge and 152 litres of freezer. Hisense relies on Total No Frost and Multi Air Flow, with quiet running around 40 to 42 dB and the ConnectLife app on its premium models, so its strengths are value and app control rather than finish.

Fisher & Paykel suits buyers building a kitchen around integrated stainless steel who want ice and water on the door and can spend £2,500 or more. Its humidity drawers suit households that buy a lot of fresh produce. Hisense suits families who need a big frost free fridge freezer without a premium budget. Its 578-litre American style model at £629 offers far more capacity per pound, though it lacks the same materials and finish.

Bottom line: choose Hisense if you want a large frost free fridge freezer for well under £1,000, or the smart display RQ760N4IFE at £1,939 for app control. Choose Fisher & Paykel if you want ActiveSmart, humidity drawers and ice and water in a stainless finish at £2,346 to £2,698.
