AEG vs Candy Washing Machines

AEG and Candy represent premium fabric care versus budget capacity. AEG's listings include the LFX50842B 8kg 1400rpm at £399, the L6FBK841B 6000 ProSense 8kg at £449 and the LFR73944B 7000 ProSteam 9kg at £465. Candy's offering here is the EY49B8-80, a 9kg 1400rpm washing machine at just £269.99, matching AEG's top capacity for over £190 less.

AEG's machines are built around ProSense technology, which weighs the load and adjusts water, time and energy so small loads are not over-washed. The 7000 ProSteam model adds steam refresh cycles that reduce creases and freshen clothes between washes, helpful for work shirts and delicate items. AEG also has a reputation for solid build and quieter running. Candy focuses on value: the EY49B8-80 delivers a 9kg drum and a 1400rpm spin, which wrings out enough water to shorten drying times, at an entry-level price.

The decision rests on what you value. Candy's 9kg machine suits budget-conscious families, students and rental properties where capacity and price matter more than advanced programmes. AEG suits households that wash delicate fabrics, want steam options, or plan to keep their washing machine for many years. The extra £130–£195 for an AEG buys refinement and features rather than capacity, since Candy matches the 9kg drum and 1400rpm spin.

Bottom line: choose AEG if you want ProSense load adjustment and steam care, with the 7000 ProSteam LFR73944B at £465 as the best all-rounder. Opt for Candy if you want maximum capacity for minimum outlay, with the EY49B8-80 9kg at £269.99 offering exceptional value for a large drum.
