Fisher & Paykel vs Hisense Cooker Hoods

Fisher & Paykel is the premium name in this cooker hood comparison, with its Series 7 integrated insert hoods priced from £586 for the 60cm HP60IHCB4 to £677 for the 90cm HP90IHCB4. Hisense is the budget option, with two black hoods: the 60cm CH6IN14BXBUK wall-mounted model at £224 and the 100cm Hi4 CH10IN14BBUK chimney hood at £249.

Fisher & Paykel's approach is about hiding the extractor. Its insert hoods sit inside a custom canopy or cabinet above the hob, so nothing is visible in the room, and both widths offer three speed settings, a boost setting, efficient LED lighting and SmartHQ app connectivity over WiFi. Hisense is the opposite: the CH10IN14BBUK is a visible black chimney hood with perimetric suction, a washable grease filter, LED lighting and three speeds, while the CH6IN14BXBUK is an angled black glass chimney with two extraction options and three speeds. The Hisense hoods have simpler controls and no app, but they are far cheaper to buy, and the 100cm Hi4 covers a wider cooking area than the 60cm and 90cm Fisher & Paykel options cover in the same comparison.

Fisher & Paykel suits design-led kitchens where the hood is planned with a kitchen designer and built into a custom canopy, often alongside other Fisher & Paykel cooking appliances. Hisense suits modern kitchens with black ovens, hobs and splashbacks, and it is the obvious choice for a wide hob or range cooker. Check the noise at the highest speed, match the hood width to the hob, and decide between ducting outside and recirculation before buying.

Bottom line: choose Fisher & Paykel if you want the extractor hidden inside a custom canopy with app control, starting at £586; choose Hisense if you want a black finish for £224 to £249 or a 100cm hood for a wide hob.
